The main house at Urban Saints Westbrook - the residential centre on the Isle of Wight, England

Westbrook: “An amazing location for all groups.”

7th Jul 2020

Urban Saints Westbrook is our residential centre on the Isle of Wight and it exists for Groups to bring their young people and experience the benefits of a residential with time to explore more about Jesus.

Urban Saints Guildford have recently celebrated their 110th anniversary at Westbrook, which they visit several times a year for various residentials for different age groups. Jagat Shrestha, one of the Leaders, explains why Westbrook is so important to them.

“One of my earliest memories of being a lad is travelling to the Isle of Wight for a residential weekend at Westbrook, which we have had the privilege of enjoying for many years now.

“Westbrook is a fantastic place which offers itself to building relationship with our young people. We spend more time with our young people over a weekend at Westbrook than an entire term of weekly meetings. It is always a memorable trip; filling the entire house with a group of lads and spending time with each other and, for so many lads it has been integral to their individual faith journey over the years, myself included – which is exactly why it exists!

“Westbrook is ideal for groups large and small and so was the perfect location to take almost 100 people to celebrate Urban Saints Guildford’s 110th anniversary. We return every year with smaller groups as an action-packed weekend away can be so easily organised. The Westbrook Centre lends itself to opportunities to share the gospel from talks in the big lounge, to general conversation over onsite activities. Personally, I love the huge house, forest and fields which are all perfect for our crazy Guildford games! An amazing location for all groups to take advantage of.”

Do consider bringing your Group to Westbrook. Even if you are a small Group, you can book just part of the house, or camp in the grounds and eat in the house, or get together with other local youth groups and all come together.

Remember that the travel is part of the adventure! Young people love the ferry journey which makes it feel like going abroad! Westbrook have a deal with the ferry companies to give you cheaper rates.

At the time of publishing, Urban Saints Westbrook is closed to visitors due to the coronavirus situation but the onsite team are preparing the site ready for when we can receive guests again. Get in touch to book your visit for later in the year or into 2021.
